【摘要】:Thistestmethodmaybeusedformaterialdevelopment,materialcomparison,qualityassurance,characterizationanddesigncodeormodelverification.Engineeringapplicationsofceramicsfrequentlyinvolvebiaxialtensilestresses.Generally,theresistancetoequibiaxialflexureisthemeasureoftheleastflexuralstrengthofamonolithicadvancedceramic.Theequibiaxialflexuralstrengthdistributionsofceramicsareprobabilisticandcanbedescribedbyaweakestlinkfailuretheory,(1,2).Therefore,asufficientnumberoftestspecimensateachtestingconditionisrequiredforstatisticalestimationor''theequibiaxialstrength.Equibiaxialstrengthtestsprovideinformationonthestrengthanddeformationofmaterialsundermultipletensilestresses.Multiaxialstressstatesarerequiredtoeffectivelyevaluatefailuretheoriesapplicabletocomponentdesign,andtoefficientlysamplesurfacesthatmayexhibitanisotropicflawdistributions.Equibiaxialtestsalsominimizetheeffectsoftestspecimenedgepreparationascomparedtouniaxialtestsbecausethegeneratedstressesarelowestatthetestspecimenedges.Thetestresultsofequibiaxialtestspecimensfabricatedtostandardizeddimensionsfromaparticularmaterialand/orselectedportionsofacomponentmaynottotallyrepresentthestrengthpropertiesintheentire,full-sizecomponentoritsin-servicebehaviorindifferentenvironments.Forqualitycontrolpurposes,resultsderivedfromstandardizedequibiaxialtestspecimensmaybeconsideredindicativeoftheresponseofthebulkmaterialfromwhichtheyweretakenforanygivenprimaryprocessingconditionsandpost-processingheattreatmentsorexposures.1.1Thistestmethodcoversthedeterminationoftheequibiaxialstrengthofadvancedceramicsatambienttemperatureviaconcentricringconfigurationsundermonotonicuniaxialloading.Inaddition,testspecimenfabricationmethods,testingmodes,testingrates,allowabledeflection,anddatacollectionandreportingproceduresareaddressed.Twotypesoftestspecimensareconsidered:machinedtestspecimensandas-firedtestspecimensexhibitingalimiteddegreeofwarpage.Strengthasusedinthistestmethodreferstothemaximumstrengthobtainedundermonotonicapplicationofload.Monotonicloadingreferstoatestconductedataconstantrateinacontinuousfashion,withnoreversalsfromtestinitiationtofinalfracture.1.2Thistestmethodisintendedprimarilyforusewithadvancedceramicsthatmacroscopicallyexhibitisotropic,homogeneous,continuousbehavior.Whilethistestmethodisintendedforuseonmonolithicadvancedceramics,certainwhisker-orparticle-reinforcedcompositeceramicsaswellascertaindiscontinuousfiber-reinforcedcompositeceramicsmayalsomeetthesemacroscopicbehaviorassumptions.Generally,continuousfiberceramiccompositesdonotmacroscopicallyexhibitisotropic,homogeneous,continuousbehavior,andtheapplicationofthistestmethodtothesematerialsisnotrecommended.1.3ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.Nootherunitsofmeasurementareincludedinthisstandard.1.4Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
