【摘要】:Thistestmethodprovidesatechniqueforevaluatingmoldgrowthresistancecharacteristicsofwetblue,andshouldassistinthepredictionofstoragetimebeforemoldingoccurs.Thedegreeofcorrelationbetweenthistestandcommercialquantitiesofwetblueinstorageorshipmentsituations,orboth,hasnotbeenfullydetermined.1.1Thistestmethodcoversthedeterminationofmoldgrowthresistanceofwetblueandwetwhitesubjecttostorageandshippingrequirementsandintendedforuseinleathermanufacturing.Thistestmethodmaynotbesuitabletoevaluatefungicidesthatareinactivatedbyproteins.Thisincludesalkyldimethylbenzylammoniumchlorides.1.2Conclusionsaboutmoldgrowthresistancearedrawnfromtheresultsbycomparingthetestwithasimultaneouslyruncontrolofknownresistance.Successorfailureisdeterminedbytheamountofmoldgrowthrelativetothecontrol.1.3Toallowuseofthistestmethodbyanylaboratory,flexibilityhasbeenpermittedintimes,temperature,andhumidityofincubation,inoculum,hidesamplingarea,andchoiceofcontrol.Thesemaybeadjustedtofitlocalconditionsbutmustbestandardized.1.4Formoldgrowthresistanceofwetwhite,theprocedureisidentical,substitutewetwhiteforwetblueinthestandardmethod.1.5Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
